Thank you for shopping at Cozy House Curios! I take pride in the items I make and only offer the best quality. If you are having a problem please message me and I will do my best to rectify it.

Custom Orders

I welcome custom order requests (within reason) and have fulfilled many. Whether I can accept a custom order or not depends on the nature of the item requested (time necessary, materials needed, skill required, etc.). I reserve the right to refuse any custom requests I feel I am unable to complete. If the request involves something I ordinarily do not do (a custom pattern, an item I have never made before, etc.) then an additional charge may apply.

For custom items priced $75 and above, a 50% down payment will be required before work will be started. This will be accomplished by the customer purchasing a special custom listing (including specific description) for 50% of the price of the item, not including shipping. The remaining 50% and any shipping charges will be due upon completion of the item. At that time a second custom listing will be created with photographs of the item for the customer to purchase.

Any completed custom items, regardless of price, not purchased one month after listing, unless special arrangements have been made, will be offered for sale to the general public.

Cancellation

I accept order cancellations and will refund your purchase. If a custom order has already begun and it is more than 4 days from the date of purchase you will be refunded 1/2 of the purchase price (and all of the shipping fee). This is best negotiated on a case-by-case basis, however, and I am a reasonable person.

Gifts

Unless it is unusually large every item I ship is gift-wrapped in tissue and tied with hemp twine. If you prefer something special in the gift-wrapping department, let me know in the special instructions section or message me directly. I will be happy to include a gift message for you (typed, because of my handwriting). See below for information on gift receipts.

Shipping

I generally ship via USPS first class mail and have found it very reliable. If you need something shipped in a hurry, contact me and I will research shipping costs. I always provide tracking numbers and expected delivery dates upon completion of the order.

All orders are shipped in one package unless you specifically request items to be shipped separately. There may be an additional shipping charge for that service. Ordinarily I will be able to ship something already made within the next business day. If I am on vacation I will put an announcement to that end on the shop wall.

I am not responsible for shipping delays caused by the shipping provider(s). During the weeks leading up to Christmas expect shipping to encounter delays and order in plenty of time.

If this is a gift and you would like a gift receipt and/or message included with the package, please leave instructions in the special instructions box when you order. If you forget or need to add something later, you can message me directly.

If when I ship your item I find that the shipping is $2.00 or more less than expected, I will refund your shipping overage, rounded to the nearest $1.00.

Returns/Refunds

I want you to be happy and satisfied with your purchases. If there is a problem with an item, please contact me!

Damaged in shipping: If I find it would be better to repair an item damaged in shipping rather than to replace it, it you will not be charged additional shipping fees, and I will refund to you the amount of shipping necessary to return it to me (USPS first class). If it is better to replace it, the same terms apply. If you prefer to return it for a refund you will also be refunded the amount of shipping.

Undamaged items: If the item is not damaged nor has a defect, you may still be able to return it for a refund but you will be responsible for the shipping in that case. I accept requests for exchanges but you will be responsible for the shipping. Personalized items are not eligible for returns.

Digital downloads: Digital downloads (patterns) are not eligible for refunds.

Patterns

If you encounter a problem with a pattern, please let me know! I appreciate the opportunity to make any corrections necessary. If you have questions about the pattern please contact me. To date, no one has been unable to successfully complete a pattern, even complete novices!
