This is a simply lovely baby blanket. It’s one of the squashiest, drapiest, softest, stretchiest blankets I’ve ever made. I keep squishing it in my hands.
This blanket is also heavy for its size, giving that extremely comforting weight that helps babies sleep. The garter stitch knit is both dense (protecting tiny fingers and toes from getting trapped) and creates a thicker blanket. Fold this blanket in two and your baby will think he’s on a mattress! I knit this in an intersecting squares pattern with overlapping pastel primary colors. It is knit in one piece, with no seaming.
This blanket is just the right size to wrap a baby with room to spare and then graduate into a favorite “blankie”. You don’t have to worry about care because it can be tossed into the washer and dryer.
Dimensions: 32 inches square when unstretched and laid flat
Care: Machine wash with like colors on warm, tumble dry low. I strongly suggest you not hang it to dry unless you have a preference for extremely stretched out blankets. No bleach, no iron.
