This one-of-a-kind crib quilt was made of high quality quilting cotton, machine pieced, hand-quilted, and hand-bound. Countless hours went into its making.
A traditional log cabin pattern was arranged so the colors form a cross in the center. Each strip was hand-quilted using multiple coordinating colors of craft-weight thread. “Big-stitch” quilting technique was used so the stitching and thread become a design element. The quilt is backed in a small floral pattern on a light cream background. Every inch has been quilted.
The batting is 80% cotton, 20% polyester, an ideal combination for comfort and strength. I hand-bound the quilt with double-binding made from the same quilting cotton as the top. Double-binding wears much longer and is prefered for quilts that will see high use. This is a quilt that will be tucked around multiple generations of babies, with the look of an heirloom from the beginning.
Dimensions: 49 inches square
Care: Machine wash with like colors on warm, tumble dry low or hang to dry. The quilt has been pre-washed.
