Description
This adorable, one-of-a-kind Waldorf-style doll was made with meticulous care. She is fully dressed and comes with her own little basket and quilt.
Her skin is blush-colored high-quality cotton knit, especially manufactured for making Waldorf dolls. It is free from harmful chemicals and resists pilling and wear. Her head was sculpted with wool, the features felted until firm, and the face embroidered. Her body is also stuffed entirely with wool. (All of the wool is OEKO-TEX standard 100. Wool retains body warmth and resists bacteria and mold, and so makes an ideal stuffing for dolls.) Her hair is 100% brushable mohair from an angora goat. It is brushed from a tightly-crocheted cap and sewn securely to the doll’s head. While she comes with her hair in two wee braids it may be styled however you wish.
Her matching nightgown and panties are made of upcycled soft floral knit. Her full-skirted, pintucked dress is 100% cotton in a small paisley pattern. It buttons at the back with three buttons. Over her dress she can wear a cross-back pinafore in unbleached muslin. It buttons with two wooden buttons at the shoulders and has three little blue flowers embroidered on the front.
Her cardigan is knit from self-striping wool sock yarn and buttons in the front with four buttons. She also has a matching knit hat. She wears hand-knitted wool knee socks and crocheted wool slip-on shoes.
In addition she carries a basket crocheted with wool over covered floral wire. She wears a tiny white cross crocheted from cotton crochet thread and stiffened with fabric stiffener.
As mentioned above, she has her very own patchwork quilt. It was pieced with scraps of cotton, hand-quilted with cotton batting, and hand-bound.

Dimensions: The doll is just under 11 inches tall. Her quilt is 14 inches square.
Care:
Doll: I recommend spot cleaning the doll itself as needed, and hand-washing if absolutely necessary. Soak in cool water using a gentle detergent or baby wash. Gently squeeze out excess water; do not wring or scrub. Lay on a towel to dry for one or more days depending on humidity. There are several good sites online giving explicit directions for cleaning Waldorf dolls and I recommend consulting them if you feel you need to do so.
Clothing: Her clothing is all machine washable and dryable. I highly recommend pinning them in a lingerie bag so they do not get lost. The quilt is likewise machine washable and dryable. *However*, I would strongly consider letting your child help hand-wash her clothing and quilt and hang them out to dry. This is part of the fun!
