I’ve been sewing and making things since I was a small child. I had a dollhouse and loved to make things for it and still make things for my daughters’ dollhouses. I also made things for them when they were babies and for their dolls. When my sixth child turned one in October 2014 I finally caved in to popular pressure and created an Etsy shop to sell the things I made. In July 2018 I took it a step further and set up my own website.

Over the years the best-selling items have been the crocheted play censers. I have made thousands and lost count long ago. They have been sent all over the world (including to an Orthodox orphanage in Ghana), stocked church and monastery bookstores, given as gifts for both children and adults (that newly ordained deacon was tickled pink), and sit in our own humble parish’s soft church toy basket.

I began making dolls in 2018. The first dolls I made were decidedly amateurish! I kept trying to improve, looking for solutions to various challenges I encountered. Eventually I found my stride making natural fiber art dolls. They’re Waldorf-inspired, but more sculptural, especially in the facial features. I learned how to create heads that turned and tilted, giving the dolls a much greater range of poses and expression. In 2024 I added separate listings for hand-quilted doll quilts and doll clothes.

All along the way I have been knitting, crocheting, and sewing for babies, embroidering cotton bonnets, making quilts and blankets, etc. The ideas keep coming and so do the baby items! In 2024 I branched out to include knitted wool sweaters featuring a three-bar-cross.

We have a smoke-free home and one lazy, but very decorative, cat.
